# CRM Integrations

Connect Salesforce or HubSpot to bring live CRM context into NationGraph and push approved actions back to your CRM.

### Bidirectional CRM workflows

NationGraph can read live data from linked Salesforce Accounts and HubSpot Companies, in addition to pushing approved actions into those CRMs.

Once an account is linked, CRM context appears throughout NationGraph:

* **Customer**, **Deal in Progress**, or **Prospect** status in Accounts, Deep Research, Find Contacts, Outreach Sequence, Vendor Contract, and other automation results
* the CRM account owner on individual account pages
* notes, logged emails, and tasks in the account's **Interactions** tab
* CRM status, ownership, contacts, deals, and relationship context when you work with Compass

**Customer** takes precedence over **Deal in Progress**, which takes precedence over **Prospect**. An unlinked account, or a link that no longer resolves to a CRM record, is not labeled as a prospect.

### Configure customer identification

Open **Settings → Integrations**, select your Salesforce or HubSpot connection, and choose:

* one company or account field
* up to five field values that mean **Customer**

Matching is case-insensitive, and any configured value can classify the linked account as a customer. If you do not configure this setting, NationGraph uses these defaults:

* **HubSpot:** Lifecycle stage = Customer
* **Salesforce:** Type = Customer - Direct or Customer - Channel

This setting controls customer identification only. **Deal in Progress** is determined separately by whether the linked account has an open deal or opportunity.

### Review CRM interactions on an account

Open a linked account and select **Interactions** to review notes, logged emails, and tasks from Salesforce or HubSpot. Activity is shown newest first and paginated, and longer items can be expanded in place. Depending on the activity, you can review its subject and content, sender and recipient, created date, due date, and task status.

When both CRMs are connected, select the CRM you want to read from. HubSpot email visibility depends on the permissions granted to the integration.

### CRM Actions

Once connected, you can also take CRM actions directly in NationGraph.

Link institutions, create notes and tasks, sync contacts, and route records into downstream tools without leaving your workflow.

**Admin Required**

CRM integrations require an admin in NationGraph and an admin in the CRM.

The first user in an organization becomes the NationGraph admin by default. Need to reset admin permissions? Contact **<alex@nationgraph.com>**

### Use more than one CRM

NationGraph supports dual CRM setups for organizations that use both **HubSpot** and **Salesforce**.

This works well when different teams run in different systems but need the same NationGraph data.

### Use Zapier for additional CRMs

Use Zapier when your team works in a CRM beyond HubSpot or Salesforce.

Common examples include:

* Pipedrive
* Zoho CRM
* other tools that can receive NationGraph fields through Zapier

### Track CRM push history

You can review CRM push history from the automation itself or from **Settings → Integrations**.

Use this when you need a single place to verify sync activity across your workspace.

### Useful CRM fields

Two common fields to map are:

* **NationGraph ID**
* **Sourced by NationGraph**

For account matching, strong identifiers also include **NCES**, **IPEDS**, and **FIPS** when you have them.

**Pro Tip**

Use [Advanced CRM Actions](/nationgraph/help-center/readme/integration-overview/crm-integrations/advanced-crm-actions.md) for current workflows from **Signals** and **Automations**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://nationgraph.gitbook.io/nationgraph/help-center/readme/integration-overview/crm-integrations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
