Quick Salesforce Tutorial 101
{% endembed %}

### Salesforce Integration

Connect your NationGraph organization directly to Salesforce. Your team can read live CRM context, sync Signals, push contacts, and manage approved CRM actions without leaving NationGraph.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Easy, Minimal Configuration Flow**

Connect your organization to Salesforce in seconds with our streamlined Package Installer + OAuth flow.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
**Signals Sync**

Full integration with Signals is now live. Read linked-account context and push approved actions in real time.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
You can connect Salesforce alongside HubSpot if your organization uses both systems.

Both CRMs can stay connected at the same time.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Workspaces Sync** *(Coming soon)*

Sync your Workspaces data directly to Salesforce — launching soon!
{% endhint %}

### Connect to Salesforce

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open **Settings → Integrations**

Go to **Settings → Integrations** in NationGraph.

You must be an admin in NationGraph and a CRM admin in Salesforce.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Install the NationGraph Salesforce package

Click to install the NationGraph native Salesforce package.

You’ll be prompted to log in to Salesforce.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Choose **Install for All Users**

On the Salesforce install screen:

1. Select **Install for All Users**.
2. Acknowledge the terms.
3. Complete the install.
   {% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Confirm **All Users** is selected

<figure><img src="https://260819216-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FJK5Q9HcyZtzjrtqdBjDS%2Fuploads%2FxX2y630E2UyjxYdsMDPR%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e39b8041-8503-471a-a2ce-86d4f2d198a7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is required for the integration to work for your org.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Return to NationGraph and click **Connect**

After the package installs, return to NationGraph.

Click **I've installed the package**, then click **Connect**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Salesforce may take a moment to finish the connection.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Confirm connection

Go back to **Settings → Integrations** and confirm Salesforce shows as connected.

If HubSpot is also connected, you now have a dual CRM setup.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Configure customer identification

Open the Salesforce connection in **Settings → Integrations**. Select one account field and up to five values that mean **Customer** for your organization.

If you do not configure this setting, NationGraph uses **Type = Customer - Direct** or **Type = Customer - Channel**. Customer matching is case-insensitive. An open Salesforce opportunity can classify a linked account as **Deal in Progress** when it is not already a customer; other linked accounts are shown as **Prospect**.

### Use live Salesforce context

After an account is linked, NationGraph can show its customer or pipeline status and Salesforce owner across account and automation results. Open the account's **Interactions** tab to review notes, logged emails, and tasks.

Compass can also use linked Salesforce status, ownership, contacts, deals, notes, and logged emails when researching accounts or preparing outreach. CRM reads do not change Salesforce. Any write still shows a preview and requires your approval.

### Fetch & map your Salesforce accounts

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open **Manage → Get Started**

Open the Salesforce connection, click **Manage**, then click **Get Started**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Choose **Fetch All** or **Configure advanced fields**

Use **Fetch All** when your Salesforce account list is already mostly SLED.

Use **Configure advanced fields** when you need to isolate SLED or search by state, industry, or domain first.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Map your primary and additional fields

Primary fields:

* organization name
* **NationGraph ID**
* **NCES**
* **FIPS**
* **IPEDS**

Additional fields:

* domain
* state
* city

You can also target specific institution types, such as K-12, fire, or police.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Review the search results

Start the search and review the **confidence score** on each match.

Lower the threshold when you want to inspect weaker matches.

Use **Show duplicates** to review collisions.

Use **View all options** when a record has multiple possible matches, such as a city account versus a police department.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Save mappings

Delete the wrong rows, then click **Save mappings**.

Refresh if needed to let the mappings finish processing.

You can also download mapped institutions for review outside NationGraph.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="success" %}
Next, use [Advanced CRM Actions](/nationgraph/help-center/readme/integration-overview/crm-integrations/advanced-crm-actions.md) to create notes, tasks, posts, leads, and contact syncs from Signals or Automations.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://nationgraph.gitbook.io/nationgraph/help-center/readme/integration-overview/crm-integrations/salesforce-integration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
